Wearing The Right Sandals Outdoors

The reason sandals are a great type of footwear for activities we do outdoors is their protection of the feet, comfortability and that they allow breathing space for our feet. Activities we pursue outdoors are very different by nature;walking, golf and rafting all put a different demands on your feet and footwear. It is a good idea to choose a style of sandal that is suitable for the type of outdoor activities you perform on a regular basis.

Walking

Walking is our first outdoors and indoor activity we pursue. You can wear Havaianas in those activities that do not require a lot of support for your feet. It is not recommended that you wear high heel sandals if you are out for a long walk since your feet won’t be in natural position and may be injured. You should pick Columbia shoes if you have to wear high heels, because this well known brand knows how to make space for your toes and is very concerned about your comfortability. There are two footwear brands that offer you a high heel sandals that are great for alking, Dansko and Naot.

Water Sports

Fisherman footwear are well known for the casual style they have. The name is a bit of a misnomer, since this style doesn’t refer to fishing. However, these sandals are perfect for water sports since they are made to allow water to flow through and beyond the feet; a feature that is particularly recommended for foot health. Very comfortable fisherman sandals have a thicker soles, compared to all the other sandals.

Sports that require a lot of action and moving are not suitable with slide sandals and flip flops because they can easily fall off your feet. A better sandal style for rafting is one with an ankle strap that secures the shoes on the feet.

Hiking

If a sandal is comfortable for long walks in nature, then it is also a good choice for hiking too. The only exception would be a big hike up the mountain. You will need sandals with a lot of support in this case.
